18/01/2012Matt will be touring the UK this year with Serpentine, and possibly visiting a few other countries, announcements to follow. Live shows are already confirmed in the UK for The Matt Black Band who will perform songs from Matt's debut solo album "Dreamcatcher"... the release date of this album will be announced soon! |
02/01/2012Happy New Year to everyone! Matt has almost completed his debut solo album "Dreamcatcher" and gigs are flooding in for 2012 from March onwards between Matt Black Band, Six Of The Best and Serpentine. There are other surprises in store for this year! |
08/11/2011Matt would like to welcome aboard Celina from CS Promotions as his new PR & Booking Agent. New shows for 2012 are currently being confirmed in the UK and various parts of Europe to promote the release of Matt's debut solo album "Dreamcatcher" which is due for release early next year. |
07/11/2011Matt has completed successful shows with Serpentine at Firefest, Rock City Nottingham and Rockfest Madrid, Spain. And is now spending November in the studio working on his solo album. Matt has already confirmed various shows for 2012 and will soon be announcing many more. |
29/09/2011It has been a very busy time for Matt over the past month, appearing in Germany at HEAT Festival in Ludwigsburg with Serpentine. Alongside bands such as Stage Dolls, Keel, White Widdow, Hollywood Burnouts, Human Zoo. Matt has been occupied with rehearsals for Serpentine for the upcoming Festival appearances at Firfest (Rock City UK) and Rockfest (Madrid, Spain). Serpentine are also performing in Grimsby 15th Oct supporting Mike Tramp from White Lion, also performing are Crimes Of Passion. Matt will return to Grimsby on 26th oct to perform a solo acoustic show supporting Carl Dixon from Coney Hatch. Matt has also been recording in Sheffield for his solo album. Matt has also recruited his management and PR teams and has already began booking shows for 2012 with his new backing band. This website is soon to experience a complete re-launch with many professional features. Stay tuned! |
11/08/2011This weekend Matt will perform at Woodfest Charity Gig in Bradford as a guest vocalist for Yorkshire band Soundhouse. Then will leave straight for Yorkshire Rock & Bike Show in Sherburn to perform his final show with Invisible Idols. |
29/07/2011Matt is busy recording material for his solo album, and writing new songs for Serpentine's 3rd album. The new album "Living & Dying In High Definition" is soon to be released in Japan and across Europe. This album features Tony Mills of TNT and SHY on vocals but Matt is featured on the Japanese bonus track singing a new version of "Lonely Nights" from the 1st Serpentine album. You can catch Matt's next live show at The Yardbirds in Grimsby this wednesday 3rd August when he supports Eddie Spaghetti from The Supersuckers. Matt will perform a solo acoustic set showcasing some new material from his upcoming album and also some rarely heard covers. |

01/07/2011Matt has been busy in the studio this week working on his solo album with guitarist John Hardman & Bass player Andy Scott. AOR Heaven have been sending out promotional packs & emails recently regarding the new Serpentine album "Living & Dying In High Definition". Due to the album being almost complete when Matt joined the band; the 10 songs feature Tony Mills (SHY/ TNT) on vocals but Matt is performing on the japanese bonus track which is a new version of Serpentine's "Lonely Nights". |

28/03/2011Invisible Idols are to take a long break. Unfortunately Paul Darby has had to leave due to other commitments. We have come to the decision to stop to concentrate on various ventures/projects. But may return in the future. The band will perform 1 show this year as a farewell at Yorkshire Rock & Bike Show, Leeds in August! Thank you for the great support given to the band since November 2008, we really appreciate it! |
15/03/2011Matt is pleased to announce that he will be appearing at Firefest 2011 with Serpentine. The band will open the event on Friday 21st October on the same bill as Houston, Terry Brock & Jimi Jamison (Survivor). Other artists also appearing at the weekend festival this year include Talon, Vega, Silent Rage, Jeff Paris, Strangeways, Steve Augeri, Warrant, Far Cry, White Widdow, Alien, Kane Roberts, Mitch Malloy, Coney Hatch & Unruly Child. |

After a sold out event; Serpentine & Houston are touring with Miss Behaviour & "A Mystery Band Soon TBA" on 29th April visiting Grimsby, Nottingham, Wigan, Glasgow, Bristol & London. Serpentine are set to Tour the UK starting 29th April alongside Houston, Miss Behaviour + a special mystery band! 27/11/2010Today Invisible Idols completed the first UK Tour and it was a great experience for the band and all involved. The band would like to thank everyone who came to support them across England, Scotland & Wales in some extreme weather conditions. Paul Darby has settled in on drums perfectly and become a key factor in the driving force of the band. Invisible Idols plan to record their second album in early 2011 and this will be onsale at gigs through-out the May 2011 UK Tour! Keep checking back folks! |

03/03/2010The Invisible Idols album is weeks away from being completed. This will then be launched on i-tunes. The band's November UK Tour Dates will be announced next month. Matt has been busy rehearsing with Six Of The Best and preparing for the first gig at Sheffield's Bellhouse Club on 25th March. Matt has also been gigging regularly with Stagefright and the band is booking more dates for this year so keep checking back for further updates. |

23/01/2010Six Of The Best are now taking bookings for 2010/2011, gigs are starting to flood in already, rehearsals are almost complete and the band is on the road from April. Invisible Idols are still hard at work recording in the studio and preparing for the february gigs in Yorkshire. |
11/01/2010The gigs begin at the end of January this year with various projects. Matt is currently in the studio with Invisible Idols working on the new EP titled "Highway Child". 30/12/2009Matt's final gig of the year is held on New Years Eve with Stagefright at Smithywood Club in Sheffield, tickets are onsale now. In January Matt is straight back into rehearsals with Six Of The Best & Invisible Idols. The Idols are going into the studio to record the new EP and will be attending the next of 2 photoshoots for the 2010 UK Tour Publicity Shots which will take place in November.
